Going back to 2016 when I first tried this place, not sure what prompted me to go. Probably google maps (thank you google, again). After this one time, immediately became my favorite and solidly holding down my "thai number one" spot regardless of how many times I visit Thailand.
Located by University of Washington. You can get there by subway (which I have done once when I was too afraid to use my navy rental car), but easiest to get there by car. Parking could be a little tough, but you'll find a street parking probably within 15 minutes.
I wish I had some videos, but just watching them cook so much food so fast... you're just kind of in awe. It gets really hot by the countertop, so I can't even imagine being right next to that fire for hours on end.
You can quickly see how popular they are by just counting that to-go boxes on the right side. Mind you, this is not one-and-done, they just keep doing this back to back.

Very different from other tom yums I've had in the past. Very lime-y and citrus-y like others, but the way that lemongrass hits =

This is what I think pad thai should taste like, everywhere. Not that ketchup tasting things.
do you wanna go back?

Forgot to add cleanliness to the overall rating. It's pretty gross, like Sinae-will-clean-the-chair-before-sitting-down gross. I guess that's not that gross since she always does that.
In August of 2024, I went back to see if I can get this awesome thai food just one more time (I was there by myself for work travel). I showed up taking the ferry then the subway, just to be turned away 30 minutes before closing because they were done for the day. Next time, I will show up at least one hour early...
